ETS2: De volgende stap in de energietransitie
Vanaf 1 januari 2025 moeten brandstofleveranciers hun aankoop van fossiele brandstoffen in kaart brengen en rapporteren. Dit is een cruciale voorbereidende stap. In 2027 wordt ETS2 volledig operationeel. Hoewel de exacte gevolgen nog niet volledig duidelijk zijn, staat één ding vast: fossiele brandstoffen zullen aanzienlijk duurder worden.
Op 1 januari 2025 zijn de eerste maatregelen van het nieuwe Europese CO2-emissiehandelssysteem, ETS2, in werking getreden. Dit systeem is een uitbreiding van het bestaande ETS, dat sinds 2005 van toepassing is op energie-intensieve bedrijven. ETS heeft bewezen effectief te zijn: door een slim systeem van CO2-uitstootcertificaten is de gemiddelde uitstoot van deelnemende bedrijven al met ongeveer 40% verminderd. Nu is het tijd voor de volgende stap.
Wat is ETS2?
ETS2 is specifiek gericht op kleinere bedrijven en gezinnen. Het doel? Tegen 2030 de CO2-uitstoot van verwarming en transport met minstens 42% verminderen ten opzichte van 2005. Dit is een belangrijke stap om de Europese "Fit for 55"-doelstellingen te behalen.
Voorbereiding op de Toekomst
Bij het opstellen van strategische vastgoedplannen voor onze klanten houden we nu al rekening met de verwachte prijsstijgingen van fossiele brandstoffen. Onze aanpak is gericht op:
Optimalisatie van gebouwgebruik: Efficiënter gebruik van gebouwen vermindert de kosten.
Energie-efficiëntiemaatregelen: Denk aan betere isolatie en zuinige installaties.
Elektrificatie van verwarming: Dit helpt fossiele brandstoffen geleidelijk uit te faseren.
Met deze maatregelen reduceren we niet alleen de CO2-uitstoot van het vastgoed, maar houden we ook de energiekosten beheersbaar.
