Who are we?

We are a healthy mix of doers and thinkers, with different backgrounds: engineering, economics, finance, process management, ... As a multidisciplinary team, we want to make our contribution to the decarbonization of the built environment.

The search for optimization opportunities is in our DNA. Hence our name, Factor4 refers to a fourfold increase in productivity by simultaneously doubling prosperity and halving the use of raw materials and energy. This idea was first formulated in 1998 in the groundbreaking book “Factor Four: Doubling Wealth, Halving Resource Use” by Lovins and von Weizsacker.

Factor4 specializes in energy efficiency, renewable energy, maintenance and comfort for non-residential, industrial, residential and apartment buildings. Factor4 assists companies and governments with a wide range of services including assessments, strategic workshops, outcome verification and ESG reporting. Factor4's clients include local governments, provinces, educational institutions, government organizations, private property owners, real estate investors and VMEs.
